Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
